JUNE

 

North Olympic Discovery Marathon, Port Angeles  ~ The North Olympic Discovery Marathon and half marathon takes place on a unique point to point course that incorporates the beautiful Olympic Discovery Trail with stunning views of the Olympic Mountains and a five mile finishing stretch along the shores of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The rails to trails course is a wide, mixed, hard surface trail. The race is organized by the Port Angeles Marathon Association - a group of accomplished amateur athletes. www.nodm.com

 

JULY

 

Sequim Lavender Festival, Sequim ~ Three-day summer celebration of the joys of lavender. Festival includes eight Farms on Tour, each offering a variety of lavender-centered activities, including, lavender lore, demonstrations, agricultural, history, workshops, horticultural programs, and the opportunity to spend time in the fields. The street fair features more than 125 craftspeople and vendors of lavender and other Olympic Peninsula specialties. Port Angeles Senior Games, Port Angeles ~ Nestled between the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountain Range, the Senior Games are all about encouraging men and women age 50 and over to make exercise and fun a year-round habit. Events for the Port Angeles Senior Games are as follows: Billiards, Bowling, Cycling, Darts, Golf, Handball, Kayaking, Pickleball, 5K Run, Racquetball, Shooting Clays, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track & Field, Bridge, & Cribbage.

Strait Thunder Hydroplane Races, Port Angeles ~ The Unlimited Light Hydroplanes are the Thunder Boats that race at Sea Fair, Detroit, San Diego, Issaquah, and Kelowna, B.C. Now coming to Port Angeles. It is a privilege to part of the Unlimited Light Hydroplane Racing Association sanctioned race schedule. Final race of the season with double point competition. The Unlimited Light Hydroplanes are: 26-27 feet long and 11-12 feet wide Gas powered up to 800 hp and reach speeds up to 165mph. www.straitthunder.com.
